Lyla's LOVES her hair. Loves. She absolutely hates it when I try to put it up in a pony tail or half up or whatever. Every day she wants her hair down and she loves it just flowing freely in the air and sometimes when we leave the house, she looks in the mirror and combs through it with her fingers exactly how I do before I leave somewhere. I finally gave up and haven't tried to put it up in months.
Anyway, this morning her hair was looking particularly ratty and so before we headed to the dentist, I had her stand on the stool so I could do her hair. She threw a fit! She cried the whole time and as soon as I was done, she collapsed on the floor shooting me some seriously nasty glares through her big tears. Not fun.
So after the dentist, we had to stop by Walmart for some shampoo and as I was looking in the hair aisle, I saw those little foam hair roller's. Images started springing up in my mind from when I was a little girl, and even into middle school for choir, where I would sleep in those curler's and have a head full of girls the next morning. My mom would even comb them out with a pic so it was just a big frizzy and curly mess! Immediately, I knew I HAD to get these for Lyla! When we got home, she asked if we could use them and I happily agreed!
I LOVE Lyla's face in the mirror in this pic! "What the heck did my mom do to me"?!?!?! |
And here's the result! She LOVED her curls and I think she looked super cute! It looks a little funny on the front because her hair hasn't really started to grow that much on front sides/top. One day we'll master the art of these little roller's :)

So cute! I had those same curlers when I was little too!
LOVE them!
LOVE IT!!!! And I totally remember those rollers - they killed to sleep in!!!
i used to LOVE those as a kid! me and my sisters would use them. i can't even imagine how many of those were all over the place after we took them out. bless my mother for having the patience to put them into 3 heads of hair! haha.
I had them too! I also made the mistake once of insisting on 1/2" perm rods which made me look like I'd been struck by lightning.
