The Princess Bride

I just recently watched The Princess Bride and it is, on my opinion, one of the best movies ever made. There are several different parts that are hilarious, however, one of my absolute favorite parts is in the end. It is when Prince Humperdinck comes in to find Westley still alive with Buttercup. The series of insults from Westley to Humperdinck are genius. See below...

Prince Humperdinck
: First things first, to the death.
Westley: No. To the pain.
Prince Humperdinck: I don't think I'm quite familiar with that phrase.
Westley: I'll explain and I'll use small words so that you'll be sure to understand, you warthog faced buffoon.
Prince Humperdinck: That may be the first time in my life a man has dared insult me.
Westley: It won't be the last. To the pain means the first thing you will lose will be your feet below the ankles. Then your hands at the wrists. Next your nose.
Prince Humperdinck: And then my tongue I suppose, I killed you too quickly the last time. A mistake I don't mean to duplicate tonight.
Westley: I wasn't finished. The next thing you will lose will be your left eye followed by your right.
Prince Humperdinck: And then my ears, I understand let's get on with it.
Westley: WRONG. Your ears you keep and I'll tell you why. So that every shriek of every child at seeing your hideousness will be yours to cherish. Every babe that weeps at your approach, every woman who cries out, "Dear God! What is that thing," will echo in your perfect ears. That is what to the pain means. It means I leave you in anguish, wallowing in freakish misery forever.
Prince Humperdinck: I think your bluffing.
Westley: It's possible, Pig, I might be bluffing. It's conceivable, you miserable, vomitous mass, that I'm only lying here because I lack the strength to stand. But, then again... perhaps I have the strength after all.
[slowly rises and points sword directly at the prince]
Westley: DROP... YOUR... SWORD!

14 weeks

Well some people have wanted to see if I was showing at all. I know I'm starting to show but that is only because I can see more than everyone else can. However, in this picture I hardly look like I am showing (you can see my stomach is just sticking out a little bit, but not enough to point out that I was pregnant). I think I'll have to use a better outfit because my shirt doesn't allow me to show very much. This was my 14 week picture. Right now I am 15 weeks and I really have gotten bigger but I haven't taken the picture yet. Anyway, so this is me at 14 weeks!

So You Think You Can Dance

Well I know this post is a couple days overdue, BUT I had to post on my favorite show!!

This season is going to be INSANELY good!!! Last season was quite amazing but the first night of the top 20, pretty much everyone danced their little hearts out! Now a little disclaimer: I didn't see EVERY routine, but I saw most of them. Top performances for me were...

Chelsie and Mark (Contemporary): First of all, this girl is 18 and she is from Utah and went to UVU (my school!) and did a phenomenal job. I don't know much about this guy but he is a crazy dancer and danced this piece really well, too. PLUS, it was choreographed by Mia Michaels, who is just amazing herself! Anyway, they made it to the next round and I am happy about that!

Joshua and Katee (Hip Hop): I don't know how you can move the way that they did. I couldn't take my eyes off of their routine! They were both so in unison in their dancing with such quick and complicated movements! Nate said this one was his favorite and told me that I needed to make sure and vote for them. So I did. :)

Hip Hop and Contemporary are almost always my favorite routines, but these couples danced them SO well! I'm sure their routines are on you tube somewhere, or you can watch it on the SYTYCD web page, so do everything you can to watch this amazingness!!!

Finally some pictures!

So, it has been a while since we have posted any pictures. Here are a few from the past couple of months (in no particular order)!!

Nate and I with our niece Sarah at Zion's National Park! Nate was such a good uncle carrying Sarah the entire time! He's going to be such a great dad!

Part of our hike

The game we used to announce our pregnancy to Nate's family! It turned out so good!

This is my knee. The red mark is my sunburn. For some reason the sun decided to burn only one part of my body, my knee. Random!

Nate and I with a couple from his mission. They spoke French but the husband spoke a little bit of English. He like my African jewelry that I was wearing from Nate!

Nate and I at a BYU baseball game.

The Wright fam on a bus going to our hike at Zions.

Nate with our niece Sarah.

Another picture of the Wright family at Zion's.

Girls night with my sisters-in-law Betsy, Candace, and Naomi. My niece Lauren came with us too! It was a lot of fun! They are such great girls!

A new pet peeve...

Right now I am at the UVSC library trying to print out my results for my assignments for my online classes. As I go to print these few pages (we're talking 5 MAYBE 6 pages) someone decides to print out hundreds of pages of pure research. It looks like it may be for a paper but seriously, the pile is now 3 inches high!!! There is NO WAY this person is going to go through all these pages. I'm not annoyed that this person is doing their homework, but I am annoyed that they couldn't tell the small section who shares this computer that they were printing a HUGE amount and if they need to print something, to do it then BEFORE the job gets started. Unfortunately, it is not a printer that can put a job on hold and let other smaller jobs print before the other one has to finish. SO LAME!!

Steel Magnolias

This morning Nate went to go play tennis with some friends and left before I was even awake! When I did finally wake up I turned on the TV and to my delight, Steel Magnolias was on and had just started! With Nate being gone, I thought this to be the perfect opportunity to watch it and to get a good cry in. Now, every girl knows that Steel Magnolias is one of the ultimate chick flicks ever made and that you would have to have a heart made of stone not to cry in it, right? Well my heart is made of cotton balls because I bawl every time I watch this movie. Anyway, to my displeasure, Nate came home just before the parts where things get sad. He sat down with me to watch the movie, and having never seen it before, he had no idea what was going on. However, Nate does know that I am a complete sucker for these kinds of movies and just knew that I would probably lose it at any time. You would think that he would give me my space during these sad times but instead he finds it to be complete entertainment. So, he decides to sit down next to me and when a sad part comes up, he just looks at me with my eyes super wide and full of tears, trying not to lose it in front of him. So once I realized that he was looking at me I just broke down crying and he would just laugh! Even worse, he would try to get me to talk during these moments where I'm trying to hold it together, and that too would get me to unleash. Needless to say, I did get a good cry in, but was sort of humiliated while doing it. At least I was able to entertain my husband while he endured the ultimate chick flick!

Normal?

Is fainting normal in pregnancy? In the past week while I've been in the shower, I have had to get out suddenly because I am about to faint! I've fainted a few times in my life... once right after I gave blood, and the other time was completely random. But does pregnancy cause you to faint more often? The first time in this last week, I almost fainted and then I threw up! Then this morning I almost fainted again, but didn't throw up (though I felt like I was going to). I hope my body isn't just weird!!

We need a new car!!!

Nate and I have decided that since we will both be working and doing other things, we will need to start using two cars. Unfortunately, our red beastly Rodeo has a lot of work to do on it, and it is not worth it to fix. So we have decided that we need to buy a new... USED car. So, if anyone is selling or knows of anyone who is selling their car, PLEASE let us know!

Getting in the Groove

I am so happy that Nate and I FINALLY announced our pregnancy news! It was absolutely killing me not being able to tell anyone for a few reasons... 1) I felt and looked nauseous all the time, and I really wanted to say something so people didn't think I looked too sickly! 2) How could you not want to share such fun and exciting news! 3) I have 3 other sisters-in-law that are pregnant and we are all due within about 3 months of each other! 4) It is so hard for me to keep surprises/good news in!

Anyway, right now I am about 12 weeks along!!! The morning sickness really hasn't been terrible... I hate complaining about it because it's sort of a package deal, don't you think?! However, there are those days where you just feel crappy. I just figured out that I don't travel long distances well. Nate and I recently went down to California and I started to feel really sick and told Nate that he should pull over. Instead, he thought it would be a good idea for me to throw up into a cooler (we had been in traffic for hours and it had just started to pick up so he didn't want to stop)!! Unfortunately, I couldn't argue too much because I was so sick, but when I opened the cooler the smell of rotten fruit flew out and I am sure you can guess what happened from there. Needless to say, we ended up pulling over, Nate had to clean out the cooler (which he did with no complaints) and he knows now to pull over when I tell him to! I have been very lucky, though. Nate has been so patient with me throughout the pregnancy so far. Every time I get sick he automatically gets me a cold glass of water, rubs my back, and caters to my every need! He didn't complain (too much) when I asked him to throw away his lean cuisine meals because the thought and especially the smell would make me so sick! He also give me massages whenever I ask him to and makes me dinner or something to eat without me having to ask. I honestly could not ask for a better husband!

Also, we just moved. Unfortunately, I got the stomach flu pretty bad just a couple days before we needed to move and ended up having to go to the ER (I had to keep myself hydrated!). I was there for about 6 hours total and Nate was by my side the entire time! They pumped 3 liters of fluids into my bloodstream (I was 5 pounds heavier at the end of the day!) and gave me some anti-nausea medication. So the next couple days I couldn't do squat and Nate pretty much moved us to our new apartment single-handedly! We had some help from guys from our ward, but Nate did everything else by himself. I started feeling bad that I couldn't do anything, so I decided to carry up something small to our new apartment. I chose to take our George Foreman Grill and once I got up the stairs, I was breathing so hard, was so light headed, and felt like I was going to pass out. Nate just laughed and called me pathetic while I went and sat down at our table. It really was pathetic. Fortunately, I am feeling A LOT better than I was before. Also, we LOVE our new apartment. It is in a great part of the neighborhood and we love being upstairs. We get such a great breeze when we open our windows! We are very happy with our new home. :)

Nate and I are also looking for jobs. The job search starts today and I've already applied to California Pizza Kitchen and will be applying to a couple other restaurants later on today. Nate is meeting with a guy about a job and is applying to a couple more. Wish us luck!!

Today I had my 2nd appointment at the doctors! It went very well and he answered all my questions and set my worries at ease. I was concerned about my blood pressure being so low but he just told me that I would be fine. My weight was also lower than my first appointment (only by 2 pounds) and they seemed a little worried at that but didn't say anything else. I told them I had lost 10 pounds since I became pregnant, and the nurse just thought I had terrible morning sickness. I told her that it was more food aversions than anything and then she laughed... which I assume is an okay sign, right? I was also worried about the baby's heart rate because when I was sick it was through the roof! However, they checked the heartbeat today and said that everything was normal and the heart rate went down! They said since I had a fever the baby's heart rate would go up. Anyway, all my tests came back good and normal and I was measuring where I should be! It is so fun because now my baby is starting to look somewhat human! Here is what the baby is supposed to be looking like...

Sorry if that is kind of graphic for anyone. It's so fun because our baby is starting to look human! At my last ultrasound, the tech said that my baby "basically looks like a gummy bear"! I thought that was so funny that that is what he compared it to! It's so amazing to think about how much the baby can move at this age! Today my doctor said that at this stage they move like crazy!! I just can't feel anything yet.
I still haven't really been showing, yet. I can tell where the baby is and I can see where I am sort of showing, but no one else can really tell at this point. If they can, it's probably because I've been eating so many sweets! I am really excited for when I do show and when I will start to feel the baby move around. I am also excited for maternity clothes... I may be getting bigger but at least it's an excuse to go shopping!!

I guess that is all for now. I am going to post pictures but since my computer has been out of commission, I have had to wait. Anyway, see ya!!
